What's in a name?
Since we began roaming Australia, validating and cataloguing campsites like no other provider, documenting our journey and writing stories that are relevant to our community and growing our purpose built online directory and store, we have learned quite a lot.
One of the things we learned is that some of our members and suppliers have been confused by our name. Free Range Camping was never about being free from a monetary perspective, it was free like a free range chicken, having open and unfettered access to the beautiful parts of our country, some well explored and others not so much and this is why our iconic mascot Freeda the Free Range Chicken is the face of Free Range Camping.
But some took the free in our name to mean “no cost” and it was confusing.
So we have listened to your feedback, both from members and suppliers and we are changing our name. It is not a big change, but a change none the less.
Our initials will still be “FRC”. Our staff will still be the same. Our directory and member services will still be the same high quality you have come to expect, and yes Freeda the chicken will stay as well.
However, to better reflect what we do at FRC, we have decided to change our formal name, from Free Range Camping to Full Range Camping to better represent what you want – a Full Range Camping member and directory service including Campgrounds, Caravan Parks, House Sitting, Help Outs and yes Free Camping where available.
Our FULL range of camping related services still includes:
- RV related business listings
- Hundreds of discounts as you travel
- A free classified section for Premium Members
- An online shop with wholesale pricing for Premium Members
- Reviews on camping products and campgrounds
- Newsletters with the latest information for campers and caravanners
- Camping & Caravan related Events and more
So, the new name Full Range Camping now truly represents what we are and what we offer
A Full Range of Camping options
The changes will take place over the coming weeks, so please bear with us as we make them. There may be a short periods of interruptions to some of our services while we change over logos etc, but for the most part you will have full access to everything.
You will still be able to access the site from the old URL www.freerangecamping.com.au however the new URL will transition to the easier to use www.frc.camp or you can use the full URL of www.fullrangecamping.com.au.
Thanks for your continued support, friendship and feedback and we hope this small change will help further galvanise our community and our collective love of everything camping, caravanning and exploring this wide brown land of ours.
