A few months ago we stopped offering our Lifetime Membership options for any new members. In its place, we are now introducing a new range of membership options for our Premium Club Membership.

Incompatiblity Issues with Android App

Some Android users of the FRC App may currently be experiencing incompatibility issues with their devices. This appears to be effecting quite a few models that used to be compatible which are now showing up as not compatible.

This issue is due to an upgrade undertaken by Google who have updated their android development code recently, and in turn, our mapping software now requires a massive upgrade to cope with their changes.

We are addressing these issues as we speak and will be releasing updates in the upcoming days. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience his may cause our users, and will endeavour to have it rectified as soon as possible.

iOS users are not affected by these changes.

In the meantime, if you are having issues, you can still utilise the Free web version of the app via the main web directory: www.freerangecamping.com.au/directory/

Specialised RV Insurance - Coming Soon

We have spent the last few months in negotiations with a new insurance provider that specialises in Caravan & RV Insurance. We are pleased to say we are almost there with our preparations and just finalising a few odds and ends before we release full details.

What we can tell you at this stage, is that the coverage will be comprehensive and there will be additional benefits to all FRC Premium Club Members. In addition to this, new members that take out a policy will have their memberships paid for, and existing members may be eligible for a refund of their FRC membership fees.

Freedom Camping?...Or is it?

At Free Range Camping we have always endorsed ALL types of camping. From Free Camps to Caravan Parks. We use the term ‘Free Range’ to signify the wide range of choices we have, not to signify that we only support Free Camping.

And whilst we all love a great Free Camp, there are times when we also enjoy a great Caravan Park. The topic we are going to look at in this next series of articles, however, is the words 'Free' & 'Freedom' and how they are used in the camping & caravanning world.

The questions in particular are: Is it actually Free? and, are you actually Free from rules and regulations?

In this interesting series of articles written by our FRC Ambassador Keith Thompson, we have a look at the actual cost and restrictions that are sometimes put in place for various, caravan parks, campgrounds and free camps.

We understand everyone has their own view and it is a very controversial subject amongst many campers, but perhaps understanding the true costs and restrictions involved will shed more light on the subject.
